Excellence in Cancer awards 2025

Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance is pleased to announce its second Excellence in Cancer awards.

Award Categories

Whether they work in clinical or non-clinical roles, the Cancer Alliance wants to recognise those people responsible for outstanding work to improve lives and treatment for people with cancer in Humber and North Yorkshire.

The award categories are:

Cancer Research and Innovation

Do you know of individuals, teams or projects that have used research or innovation to deliver improvements to existing cancer services? Have they had a positive impact on patient care? If so, please consider nominating them for the Cancer Research and Innovation award.

Inspiring Clinical Leadership

This award recognises clinical leaders who have inspired others to improve care for cancer patients across the region. If you know of anyone who meets this criteria, please consider nominating them for the Inspiring Clinical Leadership award.

Championing the Patient Voice

Do you know of any individuals, teams or projects which have championed the patient voice by involving patients in their work and used their views to improve experiences for patients, particularly in those communities experiencing the greatest health inequalities? If so, please consider nominating them for the Championing the Patient Voice award.

Outstanding Care

This award recognises unsung heroes who go above and beyond to provide outstanding care for cancer patients – showing resilience, compassion and adaptability. If you know of anyone who meets this criteria, please consider nominating them for the Outstanding Care award.

Commitment to Equality

This award recognises those who strive to adhere to the Cancer Alliance's mission to remove health inequalities in Humber and North Yorkshire. Know anyone who meets this criteria? If so, please consider nominating them for the Commitment to Equality award.

Collaborating about Cancer

Do you work with someone that recognises the importance of a collaborative approach to cancer care to improve outcomes for patients across the region? If you do, please consider nominating them for the Collaborating about Cancer award.

How to nominate

Deadline for submitting your nomination is 5pm, Friday 22 August. Any submitted entries after this deadline will not be considered.

A panel of judges will consider each nomination and the winners will be announced at this year's Cancer Alliance’s annual conference at Canham Turner Building, University of Hull, on Thursday, 25 September.
