Catherine’s story

Catherine, a Hull resident and smoker, attended her appointment in July 2021. Here, Catherine tells us what happened next and why she’s encouraging others to take part.

Danny and Christine’s story

After their Lung Health Check appointments in January 2020, Danny was invited back for further investigation. Now, Danny and his wife Christine are telling their story to encourage others to attend.

Graham’s story

Graham was diagnosed with cancer after his appointment but felt lucky to be receiving help with the support of his family and friends. He now credits the Lung Health Check with saving his life.

Christine feels extremely lucky to have received a Lung Health Check and to have received early life saving treatment. She’s now sharing her story to encourage others to attend their appointments.

David was glad the Lung Health Check’s gave him the opportunity to make changes in his life to support his health and encourages others invited to take up the offer.

Clinics are taking place in a phased approach by GP practice (see our FAQs for more info). If eligible for a Lung Health Check, you’ll receive a letter from your GP inviting you to make an appointment, simply call the telephone number on your letter to book. Please do not turn up at the mobile unit without an appointment as we will be unable to see you.
